We are delighted to announce that Dr Georgia Stavraki (Surrey Business School), Professor Emmanuella Plakoyiannaki (Leeds University Business School), and Dr Joanna Anninou (Surrey Business School) were the winners of the Best Paper Award at the 5th International Conference on Contemporary Marketing Issues (ICCMI) that took place in Thessaloniki, Greece, 21–23 June 2017.
The award was received for the research paper ‘From ear to eye: Discerning the multiplicity in consumers’ selves through collage visual data’. The aim of the paper is to discuss the interpretive and methodological potential of collage visual data for gaining a better understanding of consumers’ multiple identity positions.
In particular, a process of collage analysis is proposed, which allows for the investigation of the dialogical relationships developed between consumers’ multiple identity positions and the movements of these positions. This methodological contribution also provides insightful implications regarding consumers’ multiple identity positions; thus contributing to a better understanding of the ways with which individuals experiencing consumption realities and make decisions in the contemporary marketplace.
'We are all excited about this work and the response it received, and we are looking forward to developing this research further.' Dr Georgia Stavraki
