Welcome to Dr Marco Mongiello, Deputy Head of School and Executive Director of MSc and MBA Programmes

Joining Surrey Business School from Imperial College Business School, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Marco Mongiello.

Marco brings a wealth of experience in creating and leading innovative postgraduate programmes and ground-breaking Student Experience events, and will work closely with Professor Andy Adcroft, Acting Head of School to further develop Surrey’s innovative and cutting edge MBA and MSc programmes. Professor Adcroft commented:

“Marco Mongiello is a world class educational thinker, his passion for embracing innovation through teaching, learning and assessment is a perfect match for the environment we’re creating at Surrey. The impact he’s made at Imperial with the creation of nationally significant events such as Launchpad day show his skill at connecting students, alumni and staff alike with entrepreneurs and incubators from around the country. Combined with his extensive network of global corporate contacts and academic credentials the value which Marco’s appointment will bring to all associated with Surrey Business School is incredibly exciting. It’s great to welcome him as part of the SBS team.”

Marco’s commented: “It is a true honour for me to be invited to join the Surrey Business School, which has achieved so much in recent years starting on a steady trajectory of more and more success.”

Marco led the MSc Management programme at Imperial College Business School to top FT ranking positions as well as launching a new MSc in Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Management and transforming their Executive MBA Programmes. He holds a PhD in Accounting, is a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW and a member of the IHE. He is editor of a global Accounting and Reporting Quarterly publication and collaborates with the Accenture Financial Academy and the London School of Economics external programmes. Marco is also a visiting lecturer at the Imperial College London Business School and has been external examiner for a number of business schools across the UK and in Ireland. Marco is a significant contributor to the UK’s entrepreneurial eco-system, demonstrated by his invitation from the Queen to the UK Technology Industry reception and involvement in the organisation of Pitch@Palace 4.0, an entrepreneurial event led by Prince Andrew.
