Clean Local Energy Action Network (CLEAN) project

Clean energy will be essential for future society. Humanity is at a transition point and the challenge is: How quickly can we move to long term, sustainable and fair energy services for all?

It is widely accepted that an important part of the solution will be smart local energy systems, integrating greater use of local renewable energy resources, energy efficiency improvement and flexible demand management. The Clean Local Energy Action Network (CLEAN) brings together key players from across academia, business and government to help accelerate the transition to clean energy through local energy systems.

The University of Surrey has a long history of cutting edge research and outstanding teaching in many areas of this sector, and CLEAN aims to integrate and expand on this. Join us to help accelerate the pathway to clean future energy.
