Faculty Student Services

Your Faculty Student Services office can help you with any questions you have regarding your academic studies or any other queries you may have, for example:

• Questions related to your programme
• Allocation to tutorial or laboratory groups
• Personal tutor queries
• Requests to change programme or module

• UKVI monitoring
• Liaison with your programme student reps who represent your views within the Faculty
• Student exchange
• Requests to temporarily suspend from your programme

Your Coursework and Exams

• Submission of dissertations, lab work and other submissions not made through SurreyLearn
• Advice on the extenuating circumstances process
• Results queries

Term time opening hours are 09:00 - 17:00.

Temporary Suspension 

If you are experiencing personal difficulties that are impacting on your studies you may be considering a period of temporary suspension from the programme; in this case you should discuss the matter with your Personal Tutor or Faculty Student Services team who can offer you support. If you decide to apply for a period of temporary suspension you will need to  complete the application form and submit it to your Faculty Student Services office to be processed.


During temporary suspension, students do not receive tuition, cannot use the University’s facilities or submit any work for assessment. Access to University email continues during periods of temporary suspension in order to ensure contact is maintained.

Permanent Withdrawal

If you wish to permanently withdraw from your programme you should first discuss the matter with your Personal Tutor. 

If you decide to permanently withdraw from your programme you will need to complete the application form below and submit it to your Faculty Student Services office to be processed.

 Your Timetable 

The teaching day runs from 9am to 6pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 9am -12pm on Wednesday. Additionally, teaching events, by the agreement of the relevant Dean  of Faculty, may be scheduled to take place between 18.00 and 21.00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
