Benefits for you

Studying for a degree apprenticeship at Surrey offers you many benefits.

How our apprenticeships can benefit you

Earn while you learn

You’ll be employed and earn a wage, spending at least 20 per cent of your contracted work hours studying (online and face-to-face) and the rest working in a relevant job role.

No tuition fee costs for you

Your tuition fee is paid for by your employer. Any travel and accommodation costs to attend face-to-face learning are covered by your employer.

A combined teaching approach

You may study through a combination of virtual online study and face-to-face teaching. This in-person teaching is three to six days per year, based in Guildford, 34 minutes by train from London.

Three entry points a year

You can start an apprenticeship in either January, April/May and September (subject to minimum apprentice numbers).

Gain relevant work experience in a professional environment

You’ll be able to put your new skills into practice with on-the-job training in a role that is relevant to your apprenticeship.

Build up your professional network

During your apprenticeship you will be learning alongside other apprentices in similar jobs, from a range of different employers.

Gain a recognised qualification

Most apprenticeships include a recognised qualification from the University of Surrey such as a bachelors degree or a masters.

Improve your career prospects

"Set yourself up for the future – apprentices enjoy marked salary increases when they complete their training, and those completing a higher apprenticeship could see increased earnings of an estimated £150,000 over their lifetime.” - A guide to apprenticeships (PDF)

Gain professional accreditation

Many of our apprenticeships include professional accreditation as part of the end-point assessment.
