If you are interested in contributing to computer science then we offer individually tailored research projects as part of our PhD course. This will provide you with a unique experience in which you will study to become an expert in your chosen field.

Studentships

Verification of security and privacy in modern communication protocols

Funding information:
A stipend of £16,000 per annum, tax-free, subject to nationality and residence status. Fees are covered for UK/EU students. Additional fees for international applicants are not covered, but top up funding may be obtained by applying to Surrey University for the Overseas Research Student Awards Scheme studentships (ORS).

Uncertainty quantification in high-dimensional spaces with Bayesian deep learning

Funding information:
Stipend: £16,000 per annum. Fees:  Studentship Fees are covered at UK /EU rates.  The studentship is open to both UK/EU students (full award – tuition plus stipend) and international students (partial award - tuition at the UK/EU rate plus stipend). International applicants are encouraged to apply for a fee scholarship to reduce tuition fees to the UK/EU rate.

Artificial intelligence for adaptive key management for internet of things services in future mobile networks

Funding information:
This research project has funding attached. Funding for this project is available to UK citizens. All tuition fees and stipend are covered (£22,500 per annum).

Facilities

To support our courses we have an extensive set of facilities including computer labs, free software, and a High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster.
