Research Centres

Digital World Research Centre (DWRC)

The Digital World Research Centre (DWRC) carries out new media innovation projects with social benefit. To do this we conduct art and design research into new media experiences in both professional and everyday domains. We also strive to commercialize and apply the findings of our research in society.

Institute of Sound Recording (IoS)

The Institute of Sound Recording (IoSR) is responsible for world-class research in psychoacoustic engineering and offers postgraduate research-based MPhil and PhD programmes in this area, as well as being home to the world-famous Tonmeister® BMus undergraduate degree course in Music & Sound Recording.

International Guitar Research Centre (IGRC)

Developing Surrey strong association with the guitar since the 1960’s when Reginald Smith-Brindle was Professor the International Guitar Research Centre (IGRC) has been established as an international hub for guitar-centered research in all styles of music.
