For 2017 entry we will offer a portfolio of Engineering for Health programmes.
These programmes will be:
- Data Science for Health BSc (Hons)
- Electronic Engineering for Medicine and Healthcare BEng (Hons) or MEng
- Medical Engineering BEng (Hons) or MEng
- Biomedicine (Electronic Engineering) BSc (Hons)
- Biomedicine (Data Science) BSc (Hons)
These programmes are pathways, derived from our undergraduate degree programmes in:
After a first year acquiring core knowledge within a specific discipline, students will be able to choose a range of modules enabling them to specialise in the field of Engineering for Health. For Mechanical Engineering Sciences students these new modules will enhance the existing Medical Engineering programme. Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computer Science students will take modules in Cells, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Physiology/Pathology, while Computer Science and Biomedical Science students will take modules in Information Retrieval and Data Analysis.
Students who opt to take the Engineering for Health pathways will be ready to take up a wide range of roles in fields such as health analysis, health information security and data science (mHealth).
