ZRI | Schubert at the Red Hedgehog Tavern
Following their sensational performance at Watts Gallery in 2017, ZRI return to Guildford present Schubert’s String Quintet in C, reimagined to sound as radical as when it was first written. Bursting with gypsy and Hungarian themes, it is here rescored to include clarinet, santouri (cymbalom) and accordion, interleaved with traditional tunes.
Ben Harlan clarinet, Max Baillie violin, Matthew Sharp cello, Jon Banks accordion, Iris Pissaride santouri
‘ZRI play with consummate virtuosity, magic and passion. The emotional charge of Brahms illuminated by the gypsy spirit is a great combination!’ Royal Albert Hall Café Ignite Series.
