Festival of Research
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) is proud to present this festival of research, which includes an exciting mix of discussion panels and presentations, plus this year’s postgraduate research poster competition. The festival will close with the chance to network and unwind with a wine reception.

|9:30 - 10am||Registration||This takes place in the Rik Medlik Building foyer. Refreshments on arrival.|
|10 - 10:15am||Introduction||Professor Sabine Braun, Associate Dean (Research), will be introducing the day.|
|10:15 - 12 noon||Showcase presentations||
15-minute showcase presentations on key research methodologies transferable across disciplines and research grant success stories:
|12 noon - 1pm||Lunch and exhibitions||
Exhibition of staff and student research (including two demonstrations) as well as the faculty postgraduate research student poster competition.
A buffet lunch will be provided.
|1 - 1:15pm||Introduction and welcome||
Professor David Sampson, Vice-Provost for Research, and Professor Graham Miller, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, will be addressing all attendees.
|1:15 - 2:45pm||Panel one||
Talk on the sociological and behavioural aspects of wellbeing.
|2:45 - 3pm||Break||Refreshments will be provided.|
|3 - 4:30pm||Panel two||
Talk on the relevance of arts, humanities and social science research to the use of digital technologies in society.
|4:30 - 5:15pm||Public lecture||
Professor Diane Watt will be presenting.
This will be followed by a question and answer session.
|5:15 - 5:30pm||Closing remarks||
Professor Max Lu, Vice-Chancellor and Professor Graham Miller, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, will be addressing all attendees.
Winners of the postgraduate research student poster competition will also be announced.
|5:30 - 6pm||Wine reception||
Opportunity to network with fellow colleagues and celebrate the research produced.
Refreshments will be provided.
