Become a careers speaker

As a career speaker you can share tips and advice on how to succeed and inspire students to pursue career paths they may not have otherwise considered. The role is considerably valued across the University as we recognise our alumni are the very best people to share knowledge of where a Surrey degree has taken them and inspire students to succeed. We are committed to providing our students with the skills and knowledge to give them the edge and you can help.

As this role contributes to key professional development initiatives run by the Careers Service, we are particularly looking for speakers who have sufficient experience to pass on their knowledge and guidance of a professional field or career path to students.

Career talks are normally followed by a networking reception or similar opportunity to engage one to one with the students in attendance. This gives students additional chances to benefit from your support by asking individual queries.

If you would be interested in become a careers speaker or would like to hear of our other volunteering opportunities, such as supporting student entrepreneurs or mentoring current students please register your interest here!

If you live further afield why not write a career profile article for us?  Contact Lucy Evans at l.a.evans@surrey.ac.ul to find out more.
