Hospitality and Tourism retains top three ranking

For the sixth year in a row, the University of Surrey's programmes in the fields of hospitality, event management and tourism have been rated in the UK’s top three by the Guardian.

As well as offering some of the best hospitality and tourism degrees in the country, Surrey is proud to be number one in the field for student satisfaction. This, along with our investment in the student experience and high employability rate, has contributed to the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management retaining its position in the top three nationally.

The School offers a rich and challenging environment for its undergraduate students. Supported by world-leading academics, students have the opportunity to gain extensive skills and experience in their chosen field whilst studying. This includes opportunities for international study and the renowned Professional Training placement year, where students undertake a placement at a top hospitality and tourism employer. To prepare students for the world of work, we also offer an employability programme that has proved highly popular with students and employers alike.

Building on its strengths, the School has introduced a new programme for 2015: BSc International Event Management. The programme has been developed to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills they need to go straight into professional event management roles.

The School’s success reflects that of the University as a whole, with Surrey rising to sixth in the Guardian’s overall university rankings.
