International Women's Day 2016

The theme of the University’s International Women’s Day event on 8 March 2016 is ‘creating confidence’, featuring speakers who have overcome challenges in their lives and careers.

Our panel consists of Amanda Thomson, CEO and creator of Skinny Champagne; Dianna Gwilliams, Dean of Guildford Cathedral; Sarah Lindsell, CEO of The Brain Tumour Charity; and Karen Rothery, CEO of Surrey Sports Park.

The official International Women’s Day theme for 2016 is ‘Pledge for Parity’ and our speakers will explore the idea of parity in their own lives and how it has affected their confidence.

The event will be chaired by Professor Lisa Roberts, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. There will be an opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session, and the event will conclude with a drinks reception.

The free but ticketed event is at the Ivy Arts Centre, from 7pm to 9pm (doors open at 6.30pm. Please book in advance.
