Meet the team: Christine Lundberg, Senior Lecturer
We pulled Christine Lundberg away from her busy teaching schedule to ask her what it’s like to be part of The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM) team.
Christine, what were you doing prior to joining the School?
Before I came to Surrey, I worked at Leeds Beckett University as a senior lecturer in events. Before that, I was an associate professor in tourism in Sweden, where I worked in academia for 15 years before moving to the UK.
What are you researching at the moment?
My primary research interest is popular culture tourism, which is tourism in the wake of films, television, literature, fashion, etc. You can find out more about my research here.
What’s great about being part of the SHTM team?
It’s a pleasure to work with such a high calibre group of staff and fantastic students.
What’s your favourite part of the university campus?
The lake. I love to walk around it and briefly escape from a busy work day. It’s a lovely place to sit and have lunch in the sun.
And your favourite tourism destination?
It has to be the Red Sea as I really enjoy snorkelling.
