The Department of Health Care Management and Policy is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Simon de Lusignan as the new Head of Department, with Professor Terry Desombre stepping down for a year-long sabbatical.
An academic GP with a research interest in informatics and quality improvement, Professor de Lusignan has been a partner at Woodbridge Hill Surgery for over 20 years. He also leads the Clinical Informatics research group and has extensive experience supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Professor David Allen, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, commented: “I am delighted that Professor de Lusignan has been appointed to this role.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Professor Desombre for his hard work in ensuring that the Department has attracted leading academics and established a strong reputation for the excellence of its research.
“During this time Professor Desombre has also made a significant contribution to the School of Law, working with colleagues to achieve top NSS results that have led to the School reaching 18th place in the Guardian University Guide.”
