Professor Andrew Lockwood receives award from Institute of Hospitality

Andrew Lockwood, Forte Professor of Management in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, has received a special award from the Institute of Hospitality for his tenure as Chairman of the organisation.

A University of Surrey graduate, Professor Lockwood has written or edited over ten books and more than 100 articles, chapters and conference papers on the management of hospitality operations.

Professor Lockwood commented: "I have now completed my five years as the Chairman of the Institute of Hospitality's Executive Council. During this time we have successfully created and launched an entirely new suite of management qualifications, the Hospitality Assured quality standard has been revised and reinvigorated and many new talented assessors have joined us.

"These five years have been a most rewarding time for me thanks to the pleasure of working with the staff at Trinity Court, the Executive Council and the other various committee members who give their time freely and generously at local, regional and national level."
