Rising Star Award for musical alumna

Graduate and former president of the Students’ Union Em Bollon has been named as one of the county’s rising stars in the Young Business Women in Surrey awards.

The initiative recognises and celebrates the success of young women from varied business backgrounds, from large corporates to creative small businesses

Em, who graduated in Creative Music Technology in 2012, is founder of Motivation by Music which provides team-building workshops for companies and organisations, including Surrey Business School, HMP Send and the Military Wives Choirs. She also runs a regular, weekly community Gospel Choir in Guildford and provides many students with private singing tuition.

She has eight years’ experience of developing community gospel choirs within the education, charity and public sectors and currently sings for two professional and renowned UK-based choirs: Kingdom Gospel Choir and the ACM Gospel Choir, performing with personalities such as Melanie C, Bill Bailey and Sarah Brightman.
