Robert Earl Scholarship awards announced

The inaugural Robert Earl Scholarships have been awarded to students across the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Offered to students on the School’s undergraduate BSc programmes, The Robert Earl Scholarship Fund helps UK/EU students in the School undertake international exchanges or Professional Training placements in an overseas organisation. 14 students have been awarded funding in all, with each scholarship worth up to £2,500.

Reflecting the diversity of placements and study exchange opportunities offered by the School, students are set for a range of destinations around the world, including Australia, Ireland, Spain, Brazil, Thailand, Belgium, Austria and the USA.

Robert Earl is the founder of the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain and a graduate of the University of Surrey, with an honours degree in Hotel and Catering Management. The announcement of his scholarship fund for the School came at an evening reception at Planet Hollywood in London, attended by over 130 students, staff, alumni and industry contacts.
