Students gain rejuvenated places to study

Students now have even more opportunities to work together in bright, modern surroundings thanks to an Annual Fund-supported redevelopment of several group study rooms.

Under the project, three rooms in the old section of the Library and Learning Resource Centre (LRC) have been redecorated and kitted out with new furniture and the latest AV equipment.

Director of Library and Learning Support Services Jane Savidge said that the upgrade has brought the rooms into line with the excellent new facilities available in the recently-completed LRC extension.

She added: "Students use the Library group work rooms to carry out assignments, to practise presentations and for discussions and meetings.

"The upgrading of rooms in the existing Library funded by alumni makes a huge difference by providing more spaces to meet the increasing demand. The new furniture and equipment ensure that these attractive, well-equipped spaces are suitable for students' work using the new virtual learning environment."
