Surrey awarded Sport England funding

Students to benefit from £165,00 National Lottery funding from Sport England’s University Sport Activation Fund.

The funding, part of a £10m pot to get 180,000 students across the UK playing sport, will allow Surrey Sports Park and Team Surrey to develop the Play Sport social sport and activity programme, giving students opportunities to take part in intramural sport at the world-class Sports Park and across the campus.

Claire Shapland, Sports Development Officer at Surrey Sports Park, said, “This Lottery funding means we can continue to provide and grow an inclusive programme of sport and recreational activity for our students.

“Building on the recent success of Play Sport, we will offer an expanded programme of pay-as-you-play sports and recreational activities and believe our project will improve the health and well-being of our students.”
