Surrey students victorious at enterprise awards

University of Surrey students Josh Thornton and Kevin Patrick recently celebrated success at the SETsquared Student Enterprise Awards, which showcase the achievements of student entrepreneurs.

Josh Thornton, a Paramedic Practice student, won the People's Choice award on the night for his AmpiSolutions company, through which he has designed and developed innovative new bandages for treating traumatic limb injuries.

Kevin Patrick, President of Surrey Entrepreneurs, won the Student Enterprise Champion award, presented to students who have made an outstanding contribution to enterprise and who have significantly impacted on the success of their respective Enterprise Society.

A collaboration between the universities of Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Southampton and Surrey, SETsquared supports the growth and success of new business opportunities through spin-outs, licensing and incubation. It also works with industry through research collaboration and consultancy.
