Triple whammy at music awards

We’re thrilled that all three of our Tonmeisters who were nominated for last night’s Music Producers Guild awards won their categories.

Congratulations to Charlie Andrew, Olga Roy and Brett Cox.

Charlie, who graduated in 2004, was announced as UK Producer of the Year, sponsored by the Brit awards, for Every Other Freckle by Alt-J. Olga (2005) won Recording Engineer of the Year for Eliot Sumner’s I Followed You Home, and Brett (2013) took the award for Breakthrough Engineer of the Year for Marika Hackman’s We Slept At Last.

For Charlie his recent success follows winning Breakthrough Producer of the Year in 2012, again for his collaboration with Alt-J and their An Awesome Wave album. When interviewed at the time about his time at Surrey, Charlie said: “My degree gave me the background knowledge in all things recording which I’ve been able to use in whichever studio I’m in or whoever I’m working with.”
