UK success stories in industrial mathematics book launched

UK Success Stories in Industrial Mathematics features case studies of 37 mathematicians playing a role in the performance of businesses, including increased output, productivity and profit.

Dr Philip Aston from the University of Surrey's department of Mathematics co-edited the book with colleagues Dr Katherine Tant and Dr Anthony Mulholland of the University of Strathclyde.

The book covers a range of sectors, including climate modelling, engineering, health and finance and was launched at a Council for Mathematical Sciences event held House of Commons on 26th January. Read more about the event on the mathematics research blog.

The department's mathematics advice centre offers businesses advice and consultancy in mathematics, or discover more about our mathematics courses.
