When Brian Cox met Jim Al-Khalili

Watch our video to see what happened when two of the UK’s most influential physicists came together to discuss their careers, research passions and the mysterious world of quantum mechanics.

‘Brian Cox meets…’ saw Professor Cox interview Jim Al-Khalili, Surrey Professor of Physics and Public Engagement in Science and winner of the the inaugural Stephen Hawking Medal for Science Communication, on a wide range of topics, from his early life in Iraq to what it's like to be such a well-known member of the science community.

The meeting was the follow-up to the 2011 ‘Jim meets… Professor Brian Cox’ interview where the roles were reversed and Professor Cox - an Advanced Fellow of Particle Physics at the University of Manchester, best known for his BBC TV programmes including Wonders of the Universe - was in the interviewee’s chair.
