You’ll be sponsored by Gencoa who are near Liverpool and this is where you will be based. You’ll be looking at the development of instrumentation for plasma based thin film and coating deposition.
During your research you will attend events such as scientific and non-scientific short courses, meetings, and the annual EngD conference and use our excellent characterisation facilities.
You’ll need to have a good undergraduate degree (first or upper-second class honours) or a masters degree at merit or above in a subject with some physical sciences content; a materials science background would be advantageous.
