On Friday 16th June, Professor Vahan Agopyan, Vice-Rector of the University of São Paulo visited the University of Surrey to meet with Professor Michael Kearney (Provost and Executive Vice-President) as well as members of the Global Engagement Office. The visit highlighted the strength of the partnership between the two Universities, with the Univeristy of São Paulo being the most active of Surrey’s research partners based in Latin America. Professor Agopyan’s visit followed the University Global Partnership Network (UGPN) Annual meeting which was held in São Paulo in April 2017. The UGPN includes the University of Surrey, the University of São Paulo, the University of Wollongong and North Carolina State University. It aims to facilitate staff and student mobility between the four universities and support international research collaboration.
