Disability and Learning Diversity

Additional Learning Support (ALS) provides support to all students at the University of Surrey with a disability as defined by The Equality Act (2010). This includes: Specific learning differences (e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia), Autistic spectrum conditions, Physical disabilities, long-term medical conditions and sensory impairments, Mental health conditions.

What we do:

  • Arrange and put into place reasonable adjustments for any aspect of your time at the University of Surrey
  • Implement exam arrangements
  • Offer SpLD screenings
  • Provide advice on the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)
  • Provide 1:1 study skills and mentoring sessions

Exam adjustment deadlines

The deadlines for exam adjustment applications are:

January/Winter exams – Monday 26th November 2018
May/June/Summer exams – Friday 12th April 2019

Applications received after these deadlines may not be processed in time for their examination windows.
