Surrey scores Five Star international rating in QS rankings

The University of Surrey has been awarded Five Stars in the international QS university ratings.

Following in-depth assessment across a broad range of criteria including research profile, graduate employability, student support and sports facilities and teaching and learning the University was awarded the maximum rating.

According to QS, a typical five star university is generally world class in a broad range of areas, enjoys a high reputation and has cutting edge facilities and internationally renowned research and teaching faculty.

Commenting on the award, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International Relations) Professor Vince Emery said, “This five star rating is a reflection of Surrey’s global status as a leading research and teaching institution that has the student experience at the heart of all its endeavours. Having recently risen to fourth in the Guardian’s league table of UK universities, Surrey is solidifying its reputation as a national, and international leader.”

QS rated Surrey against the following criteria:

Teaching: 5 Stars

Employability: 4 Stars

Research: 5 Stars

Internationalisation: 5 Stars

Facilities: 5 Stars

Innovation: 5 Stars

Inclusiveness: 5 Stars

Specialisation: Engineering : Electrical & Electronic: 4 Stars
