Come along to this highly anticipated Bitesize Briefing on Wednesday 29 November led by Dr Steve Cross, a Public Engagement and Communication Consultant, Wellcome Trust Engagement Fellow and Honorary Fellow of the British Science Association. Steve worked for seven years as Head of Public engagement at UCL and was a member of the EPSRC's strategic Advisory Team for Public Engagement, as well as being the founder of Science Showoff and Bright Club.
As a University, it is our collective responsibility to make a valued contribution to society though public engagement activity. Getting involved with public engagement helps to bridge the gap between the University and the outside world, enriches academic and student experience and demonstrates accountability in a climate of increased public scrutiny.
Steve will share his knowledge, skills and experiences of increasing the quality and impact of public engagement activity, helping to focus on how you can get more involved and make your research more accessible. Steve will also address the need for a culture shift, to increase the status of public engagement across the higher education sector and make a more significant contribution to our community.
The briefing will take place from 1-2pm in Lecture theatre E. All staff welcome.
