FEPS “Researcher of the Year 2016”

Congratulations to Dr Prashant Kumar on receiving the FEPS “Researcher of the Year 2016”. Dr Prashant Kumar will receive his award at the Vice-Chancellor’s Award evening in November.

Dr Prashant Kumar is a Reader in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and leads a research group in the area of air quality and health. His primary research into aerosols, nanoparticles and urban air quality looks at the effects of pollution on public health, and his work has acclaimed international recognition, resulting in over 100 articles in top-ranked journals with 2000+ citations and h-index of 24.

Prashant has successfully brought over £2 million in research funding from the RCUK and several international funding bodies to the University since his start as an academic in 2009, and is collaborating with numerous international and interdisciplinary research groups, working closely with industrial partners to develop engineering-driven solutions to address air pollution and promote paradigms for developing pollution-free cities.
