Vice-Rector from the Novosibirsk State University visits Surrey

 Surrey hosts Dr Aleksey Okunev, Vice-Rector for Development Programs at Novosibirsk State University

 

On Wednesday 21st June, Dr Aleksey Okunev, Vice-Rector for Development Programs at Novosibirsk State University, visited Surrey to discuss potential international collaboration, specifically in Nanomaterials and Physics. Dr Okunev met with Professor Vince Emery (Senior Vice-President, Global Engagement and Strategy), Professor Yang Gao (Associate Dean International, Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences), Professor Ravi Silva (Director of the Advanced Technology Institute) and Mr Tom Windle (Global Engagement Projects Manager).

Novosibirsk State University is ranked 250th in the QS world standings and has particular strengths in physics and astronomy, ranked in the top 50 universities globally for these fields. It is actively engaged in the Russian government ‘Project 5-100’ programme which provides funding opportunities for international research collaborations.
