Dr Tomas Ramirez Reina has been selected as a finalist for the IChemE Global Awards 2017 in the category of Young Researcher.
The IChemE Global Awards, in association with Amec Foster Wheeler and Johnson Matthey, recognise excellence and achievement in the chemical, biochemical and process engineering.
IChemE has officially announced the finalists for the IChemE Global Awards 2017 and an overall winner from each category will be revealed on 2 November 2017.
Please see below for further details about the awards:
Dr Tomas Reina specialises in heterogeneous catalysis for energy and sustainability. His research interests are focused on the application of engineered catalysts to different fuel processing technologies, enabling the transition from fossil to renewable fuels. He is developing innovative catalysts and green catalytic processes in order to benefit the hydrogen economy and the next generation of biofuels. Tomas also leads investigations towards efficient routes for CO2 conversion into fuels and platform chemicals, and is an expert in applied catalysis and reaction engineering. His scientific approach seeks to solve big problems for society by applying small solutions - nanocatalysts.
