Air Pollution Workshop with Guildford Labour Party

On 23 January, 2019, the iSCAPE Guildford team led by Professor Prashant Kumar from the Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE) at the University of Surrey (UK) organised an air pollution workshop in collaboration with Guildford Labour Party.

The workshop started with an overview of iSCAPE project research findings and their relevance to local area, followed by discussion to co-create greening solutions for air pollution mitigation.

The participants discussed about how green infrastructure can play a role in mitigating air pollution exposure in near-road environments in Guildford.

The participants and the organizers discussed ideas for and realisation of green infrastructure solutions in Guildford and how can an increased use of strategically placed green infrastructure be realised in Guildford. The participants voted for the best ideas that had arisen during the discussion. The activity resulted in some really interesting ideas and suggestion about green infrastructure for air pollution exposure mitigation. The participants also assessed their qualitative level of air pollution via our interactive air quality quiz.
