Join us for Orchestra Day

Following on from a very successful Orchestra Day last year, Surrey alumni musicians are once again invited to take part in the community event, which will be celebrating the work of legendary American composer Leonard Bernstein.

The Orchestra Day will take place on Sunday 27 January 2019 under the baton of the orchestra’s eminent conductor Russell Keable who will lead musicians through two of Bernstein’s most popular works, the Symphonic Dances from West Side Story and the Symphonic Suite from On the Waterfront.

The orchestra welcomes players at ABRSM grade 6 level and above (or with similar experience without official grading), and offers the opportunity to meet and rehearse with other local musicians plus find out more about the University Orchestra.

The event will take place in PATS Studio One at Surrey’s Stag Hill Campus from 11am-6pm and is free to attend as either a musician or a guest. An informal performance by the orchestra will take place at 5.30pm and all members of the community, friends and family of players are welcome.

To confirm your place as a musician on Orchestra Day, please email or book a seat in the audience for the afternoon performance.
