University Research Themes: funding available!

As part of the University’s Research Strategy to realise ambitious objectives for research excellence and impact, six thematic research priorities have been identified. For more information on the Sustainability and Urban Living Themes, please visit the Research Themes SurreyNet pages.

Urban Living Awards 2017/18

We are pleased to announce the second Urban Living Awards scheme. The total funding available is £7,500 and you are invited to bid for any amount up to £2,500.

These awards are open to all academic and research staff, and to PGRs. Applications involving Early Career Researchers/Lecturers as PI are encouraged.

Applications must be submitted by 4pm on Friday 19 January 2018 for consideration by an internal panel. Awards will be announced by the end of January and all funds must be spent by the end of the financial year, July 2018.

Sustainability Conference Support Programme 2017/18

We are also delighted to launch the Sustainability Research Theme’s Conference Support Programme for 2017/18.

Awards of up to £500 are available to enable Surrey staff and PGR students to present their sustainability-related research at a national or international conference between February and July 2018. The conference (or workshop) must be attended between the time of award and July 2018. Funds can be used to support registration fees, travel costs, accommodation, poster production costs etc.

Applications must be submitted by 4pm on Friday 19 January 2018 for consideration by an internal panel. Awards will be announced by the end of January and all funds must be spent by the end of the financial year, July 2018.
