Campus tours and accommodation

Tours of our Stag Hill campus will be available from 11:20am until 4pm. Tours last approximately 1-hour and will depart from Austin Pearce Foyer.

The popularity of our University means that our student accommodation is occupied in November. As we do not wish to disturb our current students, we are only able to show a limited number of rooms on this day. Depending on availability, campus tours will include an example of Band C or Band D accommodation. For more information on accommodation, visit the accommodation exhibition in MySurrey Hive, open from 12-4pm or attend one of our accommodation talks in Rik Medlik Building.

Information fair

Find out more about student life and our support services

MySurrey Hive will host a number of student service information stands, including accommodation, library, disability and neurodiversity stands, as well as Surrey Sports Park and the Students' Union. This area will be open from 12noon-4pm, pop along and find out all you need to know about living and studying at Surrey.

Travel and parking

It's best to travel to our open afternoon by public transport, if possible, as unfortunately there is no car parking available on our Stag Hill campus.

Travelling by train

Direct trains from London Waterloo to Guildford station take as little as 34 minutes.

Once you arrive in Guildford, hop on the free bus or take a 15-minute walk to the Piazza on our Stag Hill campus, where many of our open afternoon activities take place.

Search for train times and tickets on the National Rail enquiries website.

Free shuttle bus

Free shuttle buses run between Guildford station (both front and back entrances) and our Stag Hill and Manor Park campuses, approximately every 15 minutes between 11:10am and 4:30pm.

Open afternoon parking

Unfortunately, there is no parking available on our Stag Hill campus. If you do need to drive, there are pay and display car parks a short walk from our Stag Hill campus. From these car parks, you can either walk to the train station and take the free shuttle bus or take a 15-minute walk to Stag Hill campus. For more information on pay and display car parks and routes to Stag Hill campus, download our parking map (PDF).

Please note, local roads and pay and display car parks may be busy on this day, so please allow extra time when planning your journey.

Health Sciences open afternoon parking

If you are attending our Health Sciences open afternoon, please view travel and parking arrangements for this event on our Manor Park campus.

Disabled Parking

Limited disabled parking will be available on our Stag Hill campus.

Please contact us in advance if you have any accessibility requirements so we can make sure you get the most out of your open day.

Luggage

Unfortunately, we do not have a left luggage facility on campus and you will need to keep all personal belongings with you at all times.

Don’t forget to explore Guildford

Once you’ve finished your open afternoon, why not head into Guildford? The shops, sights, bars and cafés are only a short walk from campus, or you could hop on the free shuttle bus and stroll from the station.

Please note

  • The Vet School and Guildford School of Acting will not be included in this open afternoon.
  • If you are interested in nursing, midwifery or paramedic science, please book onto our Health Sciences open afternoon.
