My research project
Parental wellbeing in the context of interpersonal and social challengesI am in the third year of my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Surrey. I am interested in how parents get their needs met in the context of mental health difficulties and challenging social environments. My empirical research uses qualitative methods to explore women's experience of supportive relationships in the context of perinatal distress. Additionally, I am conducting a literature review exploring the experiences of birth parents whose children are removed by the state due to child protection concerns. Alongside my research, I am working in clinical practice as part of my training.
