Women in Business
This evening session aims to change the way you present yourself vocally in all situations- from small intimate meetings to large corporate events, and improve the way you are perceived.
You will be working with Chris Palmer, Head of Voice from the University of Surrey’s internationally renowned Guildford School of Acting. Chris will share hints and tips on how professional performers get their message across.
Heidi Hazeu is a specialist in business communications and will be sharing her insights from her time in business and academia to enhance and grow your business communication skills.
The workshop will include practical elements alongside a good grounding in theory. The event is suitable both for practiced business communicators wanting a useful refresher and those starting out in their business careers.
In business we all need to communicate and get our message across with clarity and impact. Actors face a similar challenge to deliver their story with feeling and belief to their audience.
At GSA we believe that the voice and presentation training which we provide for our students, many of whom go on to successful careers in both stage and screen, is equally relevant in a business setting. Learning and practicing the techniques used by actors will help you to build confidence and success in all aspects of communication.
Our workshops and one day courses are delivered by professional trainers who work within the performing arts at the world renowned Guildford School of Acting. They offer a fresh approach to developing your communication skills which includes hints and tips that actors and theatre professionals use to deliver a winning performance.
Chris Palmer is Head of Voice at GSA. Chris has worked with the World Economic Forum in Geneva, the Head Buyer for Harrods, female clergy, Teachers, Politicians, Councillors, Mayors and public speakers of all kinds.
Before joining the Faculty of Business Economics and Law, Heidi Hazeu worked in the banking industry, in Exhibition and Event Management and taught in Japan and the USA.
During 5 years spent at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, she taught a range of undergraduate communication skills and organisational communication theory classes.
In the USA, she also undertook consulting work for various private and public sector organisations and provided executive coaching.
Heidi teaches on Professional Development Thread modules for management students including Business Communication Skills and Business Information Skills.
