School of Literature and Languages

Exchange and visiting students

The School welcomes both exchange and visiting students onto our undergraduate programmes. You can come and study with us for one or two semesters as either a visiting student or an Erasmus student.

The University has a large number of international and exchange students and has plenty of support in place to help you make the most of your stay.

Erasmus students

The School of Literature and Languages has been welcoming exchange students under the Erasmus/Socrates Programme for many years.

We currently have Erasmus exchange agreements with the following universities:

  • Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg
  • Albert-Ludwigs-Univesität Heidelberg
  • Sprachen-und-Dolmetscher-Institut Munchen
  • Universitat Jaume I Castellon
  • Comillas Madrid
  • Uniwersytet Wroclamski
  • Aarhus Universitet
  • Université Jean Moulin Lyon III
  • ISIT-Paris

Students can study English, French, German, Spanish, Translation Theory, Practical Translation and Interpreting.

English Language Programmes are available, and students here for a whole year can also study other foreign languages under the Global Graduate Award

Students studying for a whole year should only take full modules - i.e. not those with ERASMUS, EX or EXCHANGE at the end of the title.

Some modules have very limited availability an may not be available to exchange students.

For a description of the module content, view the module catalogue.

University accommodation is available to all students studying for one year or semester 2 only. If you are studying with us for semester 1 then you will have to find your own accommodation. To help you do this there will be temporary accommodation available before the start of  semester to give you a chance to look around.

For more information on accommodation and information on how to apply visit the Accommodation Services Website
