"The social life is definitely one of the best parts of being at Surrey, there are so many opportunities to meet people."
I visited the University on an open day, and I liked the feel of the campus and the atmosphere. Manor Park is very open and green. Surrey has a very good vet school and the way the course is structured appealed to me. The opportunities provided outside of studying such as clubs and societies also helped me choose Surrey.
I’ve wanted to be a vet for many years, and Surrey has provided the opportunity for me to fulfil this! I like the number of practicals we have each semester as they allow me to practice and see the concepts and skills we are taught in lectures. The facilities are incredible, and the academic staff are always eager to answer questions and to help.
In my first year I lived on Manor Park, it was really fun and convenient being so close to the vet school. I liked how easy it was to make friends with the other students in my flat and surrounding blocks. The social life is definitely one of the best parts of being at Surrey, there are so many opportunities to meet people.
I’m a member of Mountaineering, Equestrian, Bakingsoc and VetSoc. They’ve massively impacted my experience at Surrey, and have allowed me to make some of my closest friends and favourite memories.
I’ve definitely become a much more social and outgoing person since being at Surrey, my confidence has improved massively. After graduation, I want to be an equine vet, and I’ll be using my placements to help improve my employability in this area.
