Biography
After graduating in European Tourism Management, Victoria gained wide-ranging industry experiences by working for 4 years for the German National Tourism Board (GNTB) at the Headquarters’ Office as well as abroad. As Press Officer and Internet Marketing Manager for the GNTB in Madrid/ Spain, she held overall responsibility for all press and internet related tasks, covering the Spanish and Portuguese Markets. Key responsibilities include the development and implementation of press and internet marketing strategies, market analyses, evaluation of promotional plans, organisation of press conferences and FAM trips as well as the acquisition of business partners.
Before being appointed as lecturer in tourism, Victoria worked for more than 2 years as Research Officer for accessible tourism, dealing with enhancing travel opportunities for people with disabilities. As part of her position as Research Officer, she focused on researching the market potential and size for a proposed accessible information service as well as developing the business plan to prove commercial sustainability.
Victoria’s doctoral research focused on the social exclusion of individuals with a disability in tourism. At its core, the research aimed at re-conceptualising 'social exclusion' in tourism and investigated the effect of this meaning on identity positions.

Project Name: Competitiveness for a European Tourism for All (CETA)

Project Summary: The main aim of the CETA project is to help SMEs to be more sustainable and competitive by introducing them to methods for making their services and venues more accessible for all customers. The main target group for the CETA network is the owners/ managers of SMEs that are involved in all sections of the tourism chain.
