Sustainability Awards are back!
Nominations are now open for the University of Surrey’s annual Sustainability Awards!
The awards aim to recognise staff and students going above and beyond to embed
sustainability into our University and further afield in the local and global community. There are a total of six awards available: three for students and three for staff.
Staff Sustainability Awards:
• Staff Sustainability Hero – recognising a staff member whose actions have
embraced sustainability in all forms, going above and beyond to make a
sustainable impact over the last year.
• Sustainable Department of the year – recognising a department that has made
significant strides in reducing its negative environmental impact over the last
year.
• Best Sustainable Project – recognising a staff-led project that has made a
positive, sustainable impact over the last year.
Student Sustainability Awards:
• Student Sustainability Hero – recognising a student whose actions have
embraced sustainability in all forms, going above and beyond to make a
sustainable impact over the last year.
• Sustainable Society/Club of the year – recognising a society that has made
significant strides in reducing its negative environmental impact over the last
year.
• Best Sustainable Project – recognising a student-led project that has made a
positive, sustainable impact over the last year.
Nominations for all six awards need to be submitted via Staff and Student online
forms by 27th January 2027. You can nominate multiple people for the awards. All
submissions will be reviewed by a panel convened by the Head of Sustainability.
