Visiting Professor Chris Cowls MBE appointed HOSPA chairman
Congratulations to Visiting Professor Chris Cowls MBE who has been appointed chair of one of the hospitality industry’s associations, the Hospitality Professionals Association (HOSPA).

Commenting on the appointment, Jane Pendlebury, CEO of HOSPA, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Chris as our new chairman. His deep industry knowledge and entrepreneurial vision, paired with his commitment to developing hospitality people and technology make him the ideal person to guide HOSPA into its next chapter.”
Chris is CEO of Eproductive Ltd, a leader in the digital transformation of hotel people management in the UK and elsewhere in Europe through its cloud-based system, EPS.
As Visiting Professor, Chris lectures on a range of hospitality topics and has been involved in several research projects, notably an ESRC-funded three-year study of hotel labour productivity. Chris also co-founded and co-ordinates the 2050.network of UK Hospitality leaders.
Speaking on his new role, Chris said: “It’s an honour to become chairman of HOSPA. I’ve always believed that the hospitality sector is one of the most dynamic and rewarding industries to be part of – and I’m excited to help shape the future of the profession at a time of significant transformation. HOSPA plays a vital role in equipping our current and future leaders with the knowledge, tools and community they need to thrive.”
SHTM students are eligible for free membership of HOSPA and we are working with HOSPA to offer students HOSPA professional certifications for the 2025-26 academic year.
