Christine Palmer (Chris)

Chris Graduated from Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama specializing in educative Theatre then completing her training in Advanced Voice Studies at Central School of Speech and Drama. As Head of Voice for the BA and MA programmes, and strives for vocal excellence across the School.

She has worked as vocal coach on numerous shows including the West end production of Mamma Mia!, and has taught at many leading drama schools. Chris has increased her department to cover the world of voiceovers and radio at GSA, winning major competitions over the years including the BBC Carlton Hobbs competition, the Actors Speech Prize.  She has coached in Norway and Geneva for the World Economic Forum and Global Fellowship, and was communications examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons. Chris has published articles for VASTA and the BVA and her research as Course Leader on GSA's ground breaking MA Practice of Voice and Singing course, has led to a wider readership in the training of the singing and spoken voice.

Chris supports staff wishing to gain Senior Fellow of the HEA (SFHEA) and is a mentor for staff across the university.

Chris has devoted much of her time to working in an integrated manner covering and expanding her knowledge of movement and acting methodologies that are international, to provide an more holistic and integrated teaching approach to her philosophy. Chris is a qualified Yin Yoga teacher and Tai Chi Practitioner.    

Her latest book Voice Training through Acting and Movement: An Integrated Approach will be published in 2026.
