Biography
Dr. Runfeng Xing joined Surrey International Institute (SII-DUFE) as a Lecturer in Business Management at August 2023. Before joining SII, Runfeng worked for University of Bristol Business School from 2018 to 2020. His PhD research explored the digital gig work in China, utilising Didi Chuxing as the case study. Specifically, his PhD research explored the mediation of digital platforms and the Chinese state to the labour process of gig work in China. Dr. Xing's PhD thesis was examined by Prof. Jack Linchuan Qiu (Professor of Media Technology at Nanyang Technological University), Dr. Alex J. Wood (Research Associate at Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford) and Prof. Martin Parker (Professor of Organisation Studies at Uniuversity of Bristol Business School). Dr. Xing's research has been presented on the International Labour Process Conference 2023 and recognised by esteemed scholars in this area.
