If you want to improve your career prospects by developing your knowledge in the electronics and communications industry, then these courses are ideal for you. We provide relevant, topical courses that provide industry with the right training for the job.
Over the years we have developed strong short courses with many repeat attendees.
For September 2020 - March 2021 our courses will be delivered online. We will review the situation from April 2021 dependant on the ongoing Covid-19 situation but are hoping to deliver some courses face-to-face in 2021. Some courses will be online with an additional lab practice day held at the University at an appropriate time.

Due to the current situation we have had to postpone the following short courses:
- 5G Communications and Technologies - we will publish new dates as soon as we have them
- Internet of Things: Communications, Networking and Data Analysis - we will publish new dates as soon as we have them
- Spacecraft Systems Design - has been postponed to 2021 and dates will be available shortly
- RF Circuit and Systems Design - This course ran successfully online in July 2020 with a follow-on lab day in September 2020. The next course is scheduled in July 2021 - dates to follow
- Radar and Remote Sensing: 16-20 November 2020. This course will now be online and we have 2 places left.
All courses listed as face-to-face may be subject to change due to the latest government advice but we will keep you updated on a regular basis.

Many of our courses involve putting the theory into practice in the labs, and course delivery is given by a combination of expert lecturers from the University of Surrey and from industry.
These courses can be taken on a one-off basis or some of them can form part of the MSc Electronic Engineering via short courses.
MSc Electronic Engineering via short courses
The purpose of the MSc Electronic Engineering via short courses is to encourage those working in industry to continue with their professional development without necessitating an expensive career break. This offers a flexible way of obtaining an MSc over a period of two to five years and can fit around full-time employment.
