Saying ‘Thank You’ to the First World War generation

In November 2018 the University of Surrey in partnership with the Royal British Legion commemorated the centenary of the end of World War One and officially launched this year’s Poppy Appeal in Surrey. 100 staff and students came together by the University of Surrey campus lake to recognise the legacy that generation left us as part of the Royal British Legion’s #ThankYou100 campaign.

Celebrating 50 years in Guildford

Surrey’s Festival of Wonder saw the University’s 50th Anniversary year end with a bang, as alumni and local residents were welcomed onto campus to share in the momentous ‘birthday party’ celebrations.

Jim Meets... Series

Author, broadcaster and theoretical physicist, Professor Jim Al-Khalili hosts a series of 'an audience with' interviews at the University of Surrey. His past guests have included Brian Cox, David Attenborough, Ruby Wax, Dara O'Briain, Rowan Williams, Robert Winston, Noel Fitzpatrick and Brian Blessed.

Welcoming a very special guest

The University was honoured to welcome Her Majesty The Queen, accompanied by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, on 15 October 2015 to officially open its new School of Veterinary Medicine.
