IASS Annual Symposium and Spatial Structures Conference 2020/21
Inspiring the next generation
We are hosting the Annual Symposium of the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS) and the 7th International Conference on Spatial Structures here at Surrey.
Dates: 23 - 27 August 2021
About the event
The International Conference on Spatial Structures is an event that has taken place every nine years since 1966 and has been organised by the Spatial Structures Research Centre of the University of Surrey.
The seventh conference of the series will be held in the summer of 2021 in Guildford, as a joint event with the Annual Symposium of the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS). Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and after very careful consideration, the conference will be an entirely virtual event.
The IASS symposia have been successfully held for over 50 years in various countries such as Brazil, China, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, South Korea, Spain and the USA.
What to expect
Listen to Dr Alireza Behnejad, Director of the Spatial Structures Research Centre here at the University, talk about what you can expect from the conference this year, and why you should attend.
Please note that this video was recorded before the decision was taken to switch from a hybrid to an entirely virtual event.
Registration and full paper submissions are now open!
Movers and shakers interviews
In the lead up to IASS 2020/21, we are running a series of video interviews on some of the 'movers and shakers' in the international spatial structures community.
