Applications for 2017/18 USL managed properties have now closed. You will be notified on or before 12 March 2017 on whether your application has been successful.
USL supports students with living in the private-rented sector. We also manage the head leasing scheme which provides affordable, quality accommodation to students.
Our head leasing scheme offers a comprehensive property management service which enables landlords to rent their property directly to the University for a stress-free tenancy.
Available properties for 2017/18 which you can rent from private landlords will be advertised on Studentpad from Monday 06 March 2017. You should contact the landlord directly to arrange a viewing. Aim to contact landlord between 08:30am – 20:30pm.
There has been concern about tax changes and landlords having to increase rent in order to maintain profits. Following this debate it is not looking likely that we will start to see a drop in rent anytime soon.
Housing white paper
The white paper statement on housing was released on 7 February 2017. Along with the ban on tenant fees there is a clear strategy to make renting a more affordable, longer term option for tenant. Find out more.
If you are a current student who is due to move off campus or currently living in the private sector, the USL team offers advice and guidance to help you navigate the somewhat complex renting market.
If you are looking to apply for a property managed by USL then make sure you have read the Allocation Policy 2017/18 and your group applied between 20 February 2017 and 4 March 2017.
