CoGDeV Lab member awarded Early Career award for Shape Research, Change Lives project

Dr Laura Cristescu, the lead post-doc on the Shape Research, Change Lives project, has been honoured with the Early Career Rare Disease Researcher Award in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) at the Rare Disease Research UK (RDR UK) Annual Conference.

This recognition underscores a growing movement to ensure that PPIE is treated as an essential component of the research process, rather than a supplementary task. By embedding lived experience into the heart of research, the Shape Research, Change Lives outputs recommend that future studies are more meaningful, relevant, and capable of delivering tangible real-world impact.
